May is Motorcycle Awareness Month

Motorcycle Awareness MonthCMMG MEMBERS.

May is Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month and for many years CMMG has conducted awareness events such as our recent Safety Rally and our previous MLA Ride for Safety. This however, does not happen in all provinces.

CMMG is a member of the Motorcyclists Coalition of Canada (MCC) and this year MCC has taken the initiative to have May declared as Motorcycle Awareness Month throughout all of Canada.

In order to get motorcycle safety on the national agenda, MCC has arranged to have Lisa Raitt, the federal Minister of Transport issue the attached declaration. She is also joined with Shelly Glover, Minister of
Canadian Heritage and Official Languages in this declaration.

MCC encourages all Motorcycle organizations to initiate their own regional and local safety events and has made sample posters available on its website. motorcycling.ca
